Read in your browser only. Browsers round some values, such as memory, to protect privacy.

Knowing what is inside your computer answers a lot of questions quickly. Can it run a new game? Is the laptop you are buying really the model in the listing? Which graphics chip is your browser using? Why does a support agent keep asking for your specs? This system information tool shows the hardware details your device reveals to the browser, grouped into clear sections, without installing anything.

You see your operating system and processor architecture, logical processor count, memory hints, graphics card, display resolution and scaling, battery status, storage available to websites, network type and the number of microphones, cameras and audio outputs connected. One button copies everything into a tidy report.

How to use the system information tool

  1. Open the page. The four headline tiles and each panel fill in automatically.
  2. Scan the Processor and memory panel for your thread count and memory.
  3. Check Graphics and display to see which GPU the browser uses and your real screen resolution.
  4. Press Show device names if you want microphone and camera names; your browser will ask permission first.
  5. Press Copy report to paste the details into a support request, forum post or message.

What each section shows

Processor and memory

The operating system, processor architecture such as x86 or ARM, the number of logical processors (threads), a rounded device memory value and the browser’s memory limit for this tab where available. On Chromium browsers, the tool asks for extra details such as the exact Windows version and architecture.

Graphics and display

The graphics renderer and vendor reported through WebGL, your physical screen resolution, scaling, colour depth, whether several screens are connected and whether the display supports HDR.

Power and storage

Battery level and charging state where the browser supports it, and how much storage space the browser allows websites to use, which reflects free disk space.

Network and devices

Online status, an estimated connection type and bandwidth where available, and counts of microphones, cameras, audio outputs, controllers and touch points.

Why some values are hidden or rounded

ValueWhy it may look different
Memory shows 8 GB on a 32 GB computerBrowsers cap and round memory for privacy
Windows 10 or 11Only Chromium browsers reveal the exact version
Generic GPU nameSafari and Firefox can mask the exact model
Battery not reportedFirefox and Safari do not expose battery status
Device names missingNames appear only after you grant permission

Detailed device information can be used to track people across websites, so browsers deliberately limit it. For exact specifications, use your operating system: System Information on Windows, About This Mac on macOS, or tools from your hardware manufacturer.

Common uses

Checking game requirements

Compare the processor threads, memory and GPU shown here with a game’s minimum and recommended requirements. If the GPU listed is an integrated chip on a laptop with a dedicated card, set the browser and your games to use high performance graphics.

Buying a used device

Confirm that the processor, memory and graphics match the listing, then run the PC benchmark to check the hardware performs as it should.

Getting support

A copied report gives a support team most of what they need in one message, which saves several rounds of questions and gets you to a fix faster.

Finding exact specs on your computer

When you need the precise model numbers that browsers hide, your operating system has them. On Windows, press the Windows key and type System Information for processor, memory and motherboard details, or open Task Manager and the Performance tab to see processor name, memory speed and graphics model. On a Mac, open the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, then More Info for chip, memory and graphics. On Linux, commands such as lscpu and lsblk list processor and storage details. Phones list their model under Settings, About phone. Use those alongside this report: the operating system gives exact names, while this page shows what the browser actually sees and uses, which is often the more useful view when a website or web game misbehaves.

Logical processors explained

The thread count is the number of tasks the processor can run at once. Many processors run two threads per core, so eight cores may show as sixteen. Modern chips that mix performance and efficiency cores can show odd-looking totals, which is normal.

Privacy

Everything is read inside your browser and shown only to you. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored after you leave the page. Microphone and camera access is used only to read device names, and the streams are stopped immediately.

The browser information tool focuses on your browser version and supported web features. Measure performance with the CPU test and RAM test, check your display with the screen resolution test, and see graphics details in the WebGL test.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check my PC specs online?

Open this page. It shows the processor threads, memory, graphics, display and devices your browser can see.

Why does it show less RAM than I have?

Browsers round and cap device memory for privacy, often at 8 GB. Check your operating system for the exact amount.

Can this tool see my exact CPU model?

No. Browsers do not reveal the processor name, only the number of threads and architecture.

Why is the graphics card name generic?

Some browsers mask the exact GPU model for privacy.

Why are my microphone names missing?

Browsers only show device names after you grant permission. Press Show device names to allow it.

Is my information uploaded?

No. Everything stays in your browser, and the report is only copied to your own clipboard.

How is this different from browser information?

This tool focuses on hardware. Browser information focuses on your browser version and supported features.

Why is the battery not shown?

Some browsers, including Firefox and Safari, do not provide battery information to websites.

Can I use this to check a used laptop?

Yes. Compare the details with the listing, then run the PC benchmark to confirm performance.

Specs look right. Does it perform?

Run CPU, memory and graphics tests in one go and get an overall score.
